About
SC General statute 38-53-50
You can be arrested and returned to jail without refund of premium for the following reasons:
- Change of address without notifying Acceptance Bail Bonds.
- Failure to appear at ANY court date.
- Concealing your whereabouts.
- Leaving the court's jurisdiction without permission.
You are considered "under the bond" until the day you receive a judgement on your case, whether it be guilty, not guilty, or dismissed.
A reminder to all defendants currently on bond with Acceptance Bail Bonds. Below is a list of rules that you should be mindful of in regard to the provisions of your bond. You are/were required to sign and acknowledge these rules at the time of your bond/release:
- You are expected and required to answer ALL calls from Acceptance Bail Bonds. If you have a legitimate excuse for not answering (e.g., working), you must return our call within 8 hours.
- Jim Green (Acceptance Bail Bonds) is your bondsman. If you choose not to communicate with our office, we will assume you have decided to run or will not appear at your court hearing. This is a direct violation of your obligation and will result in the revocation of your bond and your return to jail.
- If you receive a call from Jim Green’s cell phone, this is your first warning, and you will be placed on our list for possible bond revocation.
- If Mr. Green has to call you a second time, you can be picked up and returned to jail for failure to communicate with your bondsman. Failure to communicate is considered concealing your whereabouts, which is a violation of your bond agreement.
- You are required to call our office every Friday for check-ins. If we have not heard from you by 2:00 PM on Saturday, you are in direct violation of your bond agreement.
- Anytime your contact information changes, you must notify us immediately:
> If you move, you must provide your new address and consent to a home visit.
> If you get a new phone number, you must provide it immediately.
> This also applies to any references and/or indemnitor contact information. - YOU are responsible for keeping Acceptance Bail Bonds up-to-date on all changes to your status.
- It is mandatory for you to appear at ALL court dates/hearings.
- Indemnitors (the person co-signing the bond agreement) are FULLY responsible for the actions of the defendant.
- You must treat all employees of Acceptance Bail Bonds with respect, including the office secretary. If you hang up the phone while being given instructions or questioned about your actions, you will be placed on the list for possible bond revocation.
